LingoBridge is an initiative dedicated to empowering individuals in the Asian community through accessible online ESL lessons. We are a complete not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization that is 100% student-run.

Recognizing the critical role of cultural nuances and the understanding of cultural contexts in language learning, we specifically cater to individuals of Asian descent. To facilitate effective communication and comprehension, our tutors are either bilingual or highly proficient in Mandarin, Cantonese, and other languages (to be determined). Our mission at LingoBridge is to enhance the accessibility of ESL programs in the U.S., which is why we offer our lessons online. This approach allows us to accommodate the varied schedules and commitments of adults, offering them the flexibility they need to integrate language learning into their busy lives.

We believe that language proficiency is a key factor in the lives of many. It not only enables effective communication but also expands employment prospects and access to essential services, including healthcare and legal assistance. Our goal is to foster a community where ESL learners feel acknowledged, heard, and supported on their language learning journey. Through LingoBridge, we aim to serve, connect, and empower, making a tangible difference in the lives of those we reach.

Hello! I’m Cassidy, a current student at St. Luke’s School with a strong commitment to leveraging my skills for positive change. Beyond my academic pursuits and leadership roles, I am deeply passionate about LingoBridge, a student-driven initiative with the goal of making ESL resources more accessible to Asian communities and spaces.

As I navigate new challenges and opportunities, my goal remains clear: to serve, connect, and empower the communities around me, making a tangible difference in the lives of those we reach through LingoBridge and beyond.

Best wishes,

Chloe Kim

Operations Manager

Hello future volunteers :) I’m Chloe and I am an upcoming senior attending Bronx Science. In my free time outside of BXSCI, I love to dance and karaoke with my friends. My main job in LingoBridge as an operation manager is to assign classes to each volunteer and manage the practicalities such as attendance. I hope to effectively fulfill this role with the help of our volunteers and I know we’ll have a great time! Thanks!

Stephanie Lin

Operations Manager

Hi, my name is Stephanie and I’m the other Operations Manager. My parents are immigrants who initially struggled to grasp English, so I hope to elevate other ESL individuals through LingoBridge. I am a rising senior at Bronx Science and I love to draw and paint. I love talking about new music and anything related to Frank Ocean. I enjoy going to cafes and working out too! I look forward to working with everyone as your Operations Manager!!

Much gratitude to the rest of our student volunteer team!
